What to bring to a XC race?

 

  1. UNIFORM
  2. WARM-UPS- team shirt, black shorts (only wear CHS clothing and colors)
  3. Running shoes 
  4. SPIKES-racing shoes
  5. EXTRA PAIR OF SOCKS
  6. TOWEL
  7.  PLAIN BLACK T-SHIRT/UNDER ARMOR-only color you can wear underneath
  8.  FOOD FOR THE MEET-nutritional snacks--banana, crackers, nutrigrain bars, etc
  9. Water bottle 
  10. Replacement drink 
  11.  

    REMINDERS:

      • Stay at the team camp
      • Put your number on your jersey first
      • Everyone warms up together-no EXCEPTIONS
        • 1 hour before your race
          • 1 mile together
          • team stretch and team drills
          • 1 mile together
          • restroom
          • 20 minutes before race leave for starting line with spikes on
          • at starting line check-in
          • 8-12 striders at the starting line of the race
      • After the race
        • Change your spikes back into training flats ASAP
        • Get water, hydrated and replacement snack from home
        • Stay at camp until everyone is ready to cooldown
        • 2 mile cooldown with in your teams- except varsity- 45 minutes or 6 miles after every race at the meet
        • No concession stand
        • Back at the high school--team does 1 mile on track together
      • BE CONFIDENT AT ALL TIMES
      • BE A GOOD TEAMATE/SUPPORTIVE
      • Be a good sport to other teams
      • No balls or horseplay 
      • IF YOU DON’T’ UNDERSTAND SOMETHING ASK A COACH OR OFFICIAL
      • ALLOW YOURSELF PLENTY OF WARM-UP TIME
